'Sorry If There Are Still Those Who Have Not Been Helped', Prabowo Promises To Accelerate Post-flood Recovery In Aceh

ACEH TAMIANG - President Prabowo Subianto fulfilled his promise by returning to visit residents affected by flash floods in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, Friday, December 12.

"Thank you, I was well received today. I came according to my promise at that time," said the President in a live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, quoted from Jakarta today.

Prabowo said the government was continuing to accelerate disaster management. During his first visit after the disaster, he said access to Aceh Tamiang was still cut off. But now the area can be passed for distribution of aid.

"I see the situation, God willing, together we will improve this situation," Prabowo said.

He emphasized that the government will continue to be present until the recovery process is complete. Prabowo also apologized if there were still areas that had not received optimal assistance.

"The government will go down to help everyone. I'm sorry if there are still people who haven't. We are working hard," he said.

During this visit, Prabowo was accompanied by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Previously, after a state visit to Pakistan and Russia, the President and a group of ministers continued their journey to Medan City. The plane the President was traveling on landed at Kualanamu International Airport at around 02.00 WIB.

In Medan, Prabowo is scheduled to check a number of locations affected by flash floods and landslides, as well as to again lead disaster management coordination meetings in three provinces of Sumatra: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

The President then left for the evacuation post for the Tamiang River Bridge before continuing his trip to Central Aceh. The next agenda is to visit the Takengon refugee post and the SMP Negeri 2 Wih Pesam post, Bener Meriah Regency.
