Using The Airdrop Method To Helibox, The TNI Has Distributed 2,190 Tons Of Aid To Sumatra

Deputy Head of Information Center for TNI Headquarters Brigadier General Osmar Silalahi said that until now the TNI had distributed 2,190.41 tons of logistical assistance to disaster-affected locations in Sumatra.

Thousands of logistics consist of government assistance, private parties, community organizations to other institutions.

"We have sent it with land, sea and air defense equipment," said Osmar when confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday, by Antara.

Osmar said the thousands of tons of logistics were sent using various methods ranging from airdrops and heliboxes by transport aircraft such as Hercules, Cassa or CN to deliver directly to airports that became disaster logistics posts.

From the disaster logistics post, the TNI deployed helicopters from the Army, Air Force and Navy to distribute logistics to disaster victims whose areas were still isolated.

For sea routes, the Indonesian Navy has also deployed KRI transport, KRI tankers carrying fuel to KRI hospitals to distribute logistics to North Sumatra, West Sumatra and Aceh.

In total, there are 76 defense equipment systems that are still actively operating to deliver logistics to the Sumatra region.

"Alutsista consists of 23 transport planes, 35 helicopters, 16 KRI, and 3 ADRI ships," said Osmar.

Osmar continued, it is possible for his party to increase the number of defense equipment to be deployed to Sumatra. With this effort, it is hoped that the post-disaster recovery process in Sumatra will run optimally
