JAKARTA - The National Police Reform Acceleration Commission is scheduled to receive an audience with a number of former National Police Chiefs at the Ministry of State Secretariat Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 10 morning at 10.00 WIB.

The chairman of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission, Jimly Asshiddiqie, explained that his party held hearings with various groups to collect input on Polri reform and revisions of the Police Law (UU).

"Starting this week, we will start combing through what we will use as reform material as I explained. Hopefully, three months of work will be completed. In the first month, we are shopping for problems and spending on solutions, it turns out that many have provided input, sent letters, asked for an audience, and even tomorrow we will receive the former National Police Chief, tomorrow at 10 o'clock, "said Jimly Asshidddiqie, quoted by Antara.

On the same occasion, Jimly explained that the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission had begun to draw up conclusions and recommendations that would later be submitted to the President, including points of recommendation for the draft revision of the Police Law.

Jimly said the reforms desired in police institutions are expected to be comprehensive and fundamental.

"We already have retailers, slowly make decisions in the context of fundamental reforms, not only small ones, but more seriously, both in the context of institutional structural reforms, cultural work culture and personal culture of each police apparatus, and instrumental reforms, instruments, regulations," said Jimly explaining during a press conference after an audience with Kompolnas, advocate organization Peradi, Ombudsman RI, and LPSK at the Ministry of State Secretariat Office, Jakarta, Tuesday. .

From the results of the meeting of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission with Kompolnas, Jimly revealed that both parties agreed that the role of Kompolnas needed to be strengthened.

"There is a desire that later Kompolnas be strengthened, especially related to the effectiveness of the supervisory function both to the police and the police. Now, this is what was reached by the conclusion, which of course will later become one of the most important inputs in the context of revising the police law," said Jimly.

However, Jimly said that his party had not been able to reveal other points of conclusion that had been drawn up by the Police Reform Acceleration Commission, because they were still waiting for everything to be completed.

"We are starting to make conclusions, but it cannot be announced before it is comprehensive. We must of course report to the President before the announcement of this reform material to be outlined in the draft law on the revision of the Police Law," said Jimly.
