Plenary PBNU Decides Zulfa Mustofa To Take Over Gus Yahya's Leadership

JAKARTA - The Plenary Meeting of Syuriyah, the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) appointed Zulfa Mustofa as the acting (Pj) of the General Chairperson of PBNU to replace Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahyayang which took place at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, December 9 evening.

"The determination of the official Chairperson of the PBNU for the remaining service is now, namely Mr. KH Zulfa Mustofa," said Rais Syuriyah PBNU, Muhammad Nuh.

Zulfa Mustofa was previously the Deputy Chairperson of PBNU. He will hold a new position until the congress which is planned to be held in 2026.

"Therefore, he will lead this PBNU as the acting General Chair to carry out his duties until the congress, which God willing, will be held in 2026," he said.

Rais Aam PBNU, Miftachul Akhyar said this Plenary meeting was part of a process that Syuriyah had to go through to re-strengthen her supremacy in the PBNU structure.

"Alhamdulillah, tonight as we understand it is the night of the Pleno meeting as a process that we must go through to how we as we first said that Syuriyah is the owner of Nahdlatul Ulama," he said.

The plenary meeting was also attended by Deputy Rais Aam Afifuddin Muhadjir, Deputy Rais Aam Anwar Iskandar, Rais Syuriyah PBNU Cholil Nafis, Rais Syuriyah PBNU Nasaruddin Umar, Chairman of PBNU Fahrur Razi.

Then, PBNU Deputy Chairman Zulfa Mustofa, PBNU Chair and NU Muslim PP General Chair Khofifah Indar Parawansa, PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf, Gudfan Arif PBNU Bendum, and other PBNU officials.
