'Naughty' Traders In West Aceh Arrested Selling BBM-Elpiji Above HET, Police: Don't Try It Again

Police officers reprimanded a trader in West Aceh who was caught selling fuel above the highest retail price/DOK ANTARA

MEULABOH - West Aceh Police officers reprimanded and warned a number of retail fuel traders and three kilograms of LPG gas selling goods above the Highest Retail Price (HET) set by the government.

"We want to ensure that the availability of energy is maintained, the distribution runs smoothly, and the community is not harmed," said the Head of Ops for the West Aceh Police, Kompol Martinus Ketaren, in a statement received in Meulaboh, Antara, Tuesday, December 9.

He explained that the activity was carried out as a form of integrated supervision to ensure that the sale of subsidized LPG fuel and gas continued to follow government regulations, especially related to HET.

In field monitoring, officers found several retail fuel kiosks in Gampa and Rundeng Villages, Johan Pahlawan District, as well as in Meureubo District, West Aceh, which sell fuel and LPG above the official price.

To traders who violate, officers give a direct warning and ask them to sign a statement so as not to repeat similar actions.

In addition, the joint team also visited a number of three kilogram LPG bases in Meureubo and Johan Pahlawan sub-districts. Traders are asked to sell gas according to HET, not hold stock, and not distribute goods outside the region.

Police officers emphasized the importance of compliance with price provisions to maintain supply balance and avoid public unrest.

"We are not only monitoring, but also building awareness of traders to comply with the rules," he said.

Martinus menambahkan, apabila ditemukan pelanggaran berulang atau indikasi penimbunan, polisi akan mengambil tindakan tegas sesuai hukum yang berlaku.

Martinus added, if repeated violations or indications of hoarding are found, the police will take firm action in accordance with applicable law.
