Today's Apdesi Demo, Officials Prepare Traffic Engineering At Monas

Central Jakarta Metro Police deployed 1,825 joint personnel from the Polda, Polres and Polsek to guard the demonstration held by the All-Indonesian Village Government Association (Apdesi) in the Monas area, Jakarta, Monday, December 8.

"We are ready to escort the protesters, and prioritize professionalism and persuasive attitudes in the field," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro, quoted by Antara.

The officers were deployed at a number of strategic points, especially in the Monas area to anticipate potential disturbances in security and traffic jams around the location of the action.

Susatyo emphasized the importance of conveying opinions in an orderly manner, without violating the rules or creating an anarchic situation.

"Convey opinions politely, do not damage public facilities, do not burn used tires, do not fight security officers, and obey the applicable rules," he said.

He ensured that all security personnel were not equipped with firearms and were asked to prioritize a humanist approach.

He also appealed to the public and road users to avoid the Monas area and its surroundings to avoid traffic congestion.

The engineering of vehicle flows will be implemented situationally in the event of a spike in the number of people or security disturbances.

From the information gathered, Apdesi held a demonstration in the Monas area to ask President Prabowo Subianto to revoke a number of rules, especially the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) number 81 of 2025 which resulted in the disbursement of village funds.

In addition, there are also several rules that are considered detrimental to the village government, so Apdesi voiced his actions through demonstrations.
