PALEMBANG - The Palembang District Attorney's Office, South Sumatra, has named the former Head of the Palembang AR Perkimtan Service as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of spending on building materials and routine construction of the 2024 budget year.

The head of the Palembang Kejari, Ali Akbar, said that during the investigation process, 139 witnesses were examined.

The witnesses consisted of the Head of RT, Lurah, the owner of the building shop and the Perkimtan Service, as well as the examination of two experts, namely construction experts and experts in calculating state financial losses.

"The results of the statements of witnesses and physical examinations by investigators together with the Construction Expert and the Palembang City Perkimtan Service, found the fact that of the 131 activities listed in the 2024 activity report, only 37 activities were actually carried out, while 99 other activities were fictitious activities," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 5.

During the investigation, it was also found that there was an alleged flow of funds to AR as the former Head of the Palembang City Perkimtan Service / Budget User and DT as Director of CV. Mapan Makmur Bersama.

AR was named a suspect with a Determination Letter Number: TAP-7/L.6.10/Fd.2/12/2025 dated December 5, 2025 and has been carried out based on a Detention Order Number PRINT-detention 7873/L.6.10/Fd.2/12/2025 dated December 5, 2025.

Then DT with Determination Letter Number: TAP-B/L.6.10/Fd.2/12/2025 dated December 5, 2025 and detention has been carried out based on Detention Order Number: PRINT-7871/L.6.10/Fd.2/12/2025 dated December 05, 2025.

In accordance with the order of the Head of the Palembang District Attorney's Office, the suspects were detained for twenty days at the Pakjo detention center in Palembang, starting from December 5 to December 24.
