Chinese Foreigner Fugitive In Home Country Deported After Escape To MRT Station

The Class I Immigration Office for Non-TPI South Jakarta deported foreign nationals (WNA) from China with the initials AS/ANTARA/HO-Imigration Class I Special for Non-TPI South Jakarta.

JAKARTA - The Class I Immigration Office Special for Non-TPI South Jakarta deported a foreign national from China with the initials AS who was proven to have violated his residence permit and was known to be on the People's Wanted List (DPO) in his home country.

Head of the Class I Immigration Office for Non-TPI South Jakarta, Bugie Kurniawan, said that intensive supervision of the US was carried out by the intelligence and immigration enforcement team (Inteljakim) together with the Foreigner Monitoring Team (Timpora).

During the surveillance process, the US was uncooperative and fled by car.

He even tried to escape to the MRT Station area, before finally being successfully secured by the Inteldakim team, Timpora, and MRT security officers on November 21, 2025.

The results of the examination showed that the US did not report its whereabouts through the Foreigner Supervision Application (APOA). He is also suspected of not reporting any of the two property units he owns in Indonesia, thus strengthening the basis for legal action.

"As a consequence, the US has been subjected to deportation and is included in the shallow list that prevents it from re-entering Indonesian territory," said Bugie, quoted from Antara, Friday, December 5.

He emphasized that the deportation is a form of commitment to South Jakarta Immigration in maintaining state sovereignty and ensuring immigration supervision runs according to regulations.

This step is also in line with the direction of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto regarding effective, humanist and targeted immigration supervision.

"We continue to work to uphold professional, responsive, with integrity, modern, and accountable values (PRIMA), so that every law enforcement action can be accounted for and provide legal certainty for all parties," said Bugie.

South Jakarta Immigration also appealed to apartment owners, hotels, and residential managers to report the whereabouts of foreigners through APOA to ensure that surveillance of foreigners runs effectively, is integrated, and supports national security.
