BEKASI - The viral video of the President Director (Director) of Perumda Tirta Patriot Ali Imam Faryadi sleeping during the meeting, had a long tail. Not only was the DPRD summoned to attend the VIII Special Committee (Pansus) meeting at the Bekasi City DPRD Building, a group of youths in West Java reacted strongly even though an apology was conveyed by Ali Imam Faryadi.

Chairman of the Indonesian People's Cares Independent Youth (PMPRI) Rohimat asked the Mayor of Bekasi Tri Adhianto to give strict sanctions, namely removing Ali Imam Faryadi from his position, as President Director of Perumda Tirta Patriot.

According to Rohimat, in some cases or ethical scandals, resignation from office is often considered the highest form of accountability. He considered that it was not enough with an apology from the person concerned.

"Apologies must of course be accepted, but the most important thing is how strict sanctions must also be given. If there is a mistake, it is enough to apologize, it will set a bad precedent in governance," Rohimat told reporters in Bandung, Tuesday, December 2.

Rohimat then argued that the Mayor of Bekasi must also take concrete steps to improve the situation or losses caused by the error.

An apology, still said Rohimat, shows that it seems that he cares about the feelings of others. Then, an apology is claimed to be able to show that the person concerned is able to take responsibility for the actions taken.

"There are several reasons why this could be a pattern or tendency often carried out by public figures. There are many cases where public officials do something controversial or detrimental to the public, then apologize after public pressure, but there are no legal sanctions or real accountability," he stressed.

Rohimat assessed that the President Director of Perumda Tirta Patriot Ali Imam Faryadi had injured the dignity of the City Government and the Bekasi City DPRD. Therefore, PMPRI asked the Mayor of Bekasi to give strict sanctions.

"I am sure that many Bekasi City people are able to lead the Bekasi City PDAM in a better direction. Especially now that there are many problems in the management, not to mention the personal problems of the president director which have not yet been revealed. Dismissal is the most appropriate step," he concluded.

The Bekasi City DPRD summoned Ali Imam Faryadi to attend the VIII Special Committee (Pansus) meeting at the Bekasi City DPRD Building, Monday, December 1, 2025 to discuss the incident.

A member of Commission I of the Bekasi City DPRD, Daryanto, said that the discussion was conducive until the meeting was declared complete.

Meanwhile, President Director of Perumda Tirta Patriot Ali Imam Fariyadi told the media that he was asleep due to physical exhaustion over a number of busy series of activities.
