The Regional Office Of The Ministry Of Religion In Jakarta Is Again Viral Due To The Close Of Public Road Access For Official Car Parking

JAKARTA - The slow lane of Jalan DI Panjaitan, Cipinang Cempedak Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, across Samsat has been permanently closed for years for no apparent reason. The public road access has stalled for years.

In fact, apart from being impassable, the newly built slow lane section has actually become a parking space for the state-owned service vehicle belonging to the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion.

The closure of the DI Panjaitan road slow lane was complained by a number of motorists. One of them is by a road user who recorded the condition and uploaded it on social media.

In the video footage circulating, the driver of the vehicle complained about the closure of the road which turned out to be inaccessible to public transportation.

"This condition is that at night it is closed, this route is closed at night. He said there was a project but there was no project here. So it's all parked. The road is finished but it's not opened anymore, this is the local government's asset," said the video recorder.

The closure of the slow lane section of the DI Panjaitan Road was carried out starting from the intersection of the Kebon Nanas red light to the Pedati. In fact, the slow lane that was closed, right in front of the Ministry of Religion's Regional Office, was instead used as illegal vehicle parking.

"The front door of the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion has also made parking lots as well as all red plates, yes. It's also closed," he said.

He also mentioned that the road route had been closed for a long time after being built by the local government.

"The local government builds roads and builds bicycle lanes but is used by the Regional Office for parking and other reasons," he said.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, Cecep Khairul, has not responded via WhatsApp message when confirmed by VOI regarding the existence of the state-owned vehicle parked on the closed road.

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept., Juli Simanjuntak, admitted that he would follow up on the information.

"After there is clear information, coordination will be carried out for what kind of follow-up will be", said Merdeka when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, November 27, 2025.

His party will also immediately coordinate with the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency regarding the previous information regarding the status of the viral road.

"I'll ask the previous information to the Office," he said.
