Ridicule Each Other, Residents Inter-RW In Menteng Involved In Fierce Clashes

JAKARTA - Two mass groups in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, were involved in clashes on Monday night, November 24, 2025. The incident occurred at 23.00 WIB.

The clash between residents is known to be residents of Menteng Jaya RW 08, Menteng Village and residents of RW 06, Pegangsaan Village, Menteng.

"The cause of the brawl was a result of mocking each other until finally the residents got involved in a brawl," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Menteng Metro Police, AKP Khusni Munandar when confirmed, Tuesday, November 25.

Khusni said the commotion started in Taman Berhitung between residents of RW 08 Menteng Village, and RW 06, Pegangsaan Village.

It is known that residents of RW 08 Menteng Village were threatened with using sharp weapons from residents of RW 06, Pegangsaan Village.

"Residents attacked each other using stones and firecrackers. The brawl was successfully dispersed by officers who came to the location by firing tear gas and urging residents to return home," he said.

Khusni said that until now no residents have been involved in the brawl were arrested by the police. The brawl also did not cause any casualties.

Meanwhile, regarding information on residents' brawls as a diversion of drugs that were about to enter, Kanit was still investigating the information.

"We are still investigating the information circulating if drugs enter the region. So far, the cause of the brawl is mutual ridicule between residents," he said.

Meanwhile, the case of brawls between residents is still being handled by the Menteng Police Headquarters.
