JAKARTA - Senior officials from the United States and Ukraine held talks in Geneva, Switzerland on Sunday to discuss new proposals to end the war.
The US delegation was led by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and special envoy to President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian delegation was led by Presidential Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the delegation in Switzerland was currently working on "steps to end the war."
"It is very good that diplomacy has been revived and conversations can take place constructively. The Ukrainian and American teams, as well as our European partner teams, are in close contact, and I hope there will be results," he said on social media X.
President Zelensky urged that bloodshed be stopped, and called for assurances that "war will never be revived."
"I am waiting for the results of these negotiations and hope that all participants will be constructive," said President Zelensky.
"We all need positive results," he said.
In a separate post, he said the Ukrainian delegation had briefed Kyiv on the outcome of their meeting and their first negotiations.
"Currently, there is an understanding that American proposals can cover a number of elements based on Ukraine's perspective and are important to Ukraine's national interests," he said, noting further efforts were being made to ensure "all elements are truly effective in achieving the main goals anticipated by our people: to eventually end the bloodshed and war."
Meanwhile, in an upload on X Yermak confirmed the Ukrainian delegation began its work in Geneva with the first meeting with "national security advisers to British, French and German leaders: Jonathan Powell, Emmanuel Bonne and Gunther Sauter."
