Not Given The Opportunity To Talk, Refly Harun Cs Walk Out From The Audience Of Police Reform At PTIK

JAKARTA - The Audience of the Police Reform Acceleration Commission was colored by the walk out action of constitutional law expert Refly Harun and his friends. They considered the discussion unfair because participants with suspect status were only asked to sit down without being allowed to express their opinion.

It is known that Refly Harun and Roy Suryo, Tifauziah Tyassuma, and Rismon Sianipar came to discuss the alleged criminalization in the case of alleged fake President Jokowi's diploma at PTIK, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

The meeting was initiated by Refly himself. He contacted the Chairman of the Commission, Jimly Asshiddiqie. The invitation was then approved, and the group was present at the scheduled time. However, ahead of the D-day, several names were mentioned as crossed out from the attendance list, including Roy Suryo, Tifauziah Tyassuma, and Rismon Sianipar.

Refly Harun did not pay attention, and still invited them to attend. Not without reason, according to Refly, this is a public forum. Moreover, what was discussed was the case experienced by the three of them.

Arriving at PTIK, Roy Suryo, Tifauziah Tyassuma, and Rismon Sianipar were given two options to remain inside without the right to speak or leave the forum.

"In fact, they chose to leave. The majority of them chose to leave. Because they chose to leave, we had solidarity before entering. If the RRT came out, we also left," Refly Harun told the media.

Not only Refly and Roy Cs, Edy Mulyadi, who will discuss the case of 'South Children', Said Didu about the sea fence, Aziz Yanuar about the 'unlawful killing' of six laskar of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) KM 50 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, and Habib Rizieq, also decided to leave.

"There are some who survive, especially the retired TNI Forum. There are also civil society friends. About two components that survive. There is Habib Marathi who also came out. So the majority came out with their respective theme," said Refly.

Meanwhile, Roy Suryo considered the treatment unfair (fair). He questioned the logic of prohibiting suspects from speaking, while Otto Hasibuan was in the room, who was known as the attorney for the family of former President Jokowi in the case of alleged fake diplomas.

According to him, this imbalance made the forum lose its objectivity.

"So we came out because of WO, yes, we walked out, we decided that we were out. We were given the opportunity to sit inside. But yes, we stated that we were acting, we came out," said Roy.

On the same occasion, Forensic digital expert Rismon Sianipar added that Otto's presence gave the impression of partiality. He assessed that the forum should open space for both sides, not just hearing one version.

"Why if we bring this criminalization case against us, academics, researchers, and activists, there is also Professor Otto Hasibuan who from his lawyer's office accompanies or becomes a PH from the reporter, Joko Widodo. So that's not fair," he concluded.
