JEMBER - The journey of two trains in the Operation Area (Daop) 9 Jember was disrupted until it was delayed arriving at the station due to a cement truck overturned near the rail line at KM 44+3 between Porong-Bangil.

"We apologize for the disruption of train travel that occurred on the road plot between Porong and Bangil in the Daop 8 area of Surabaya," said Daop 9 Public Relations Manager Cahyo Widiantoro as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 13.

The disturbance was caused by a tank truck loaded with bulk cement that rolled near the train line at Km 44+3, thus disrupting the train journey that was about to pass.

"On behalf of KAI Daop 9 Jember, we apologize profusely to all train customers for the inconvenience and slowdown caused by the incident," he said.

KAI took follow-up steps by coordinating quickly with the Daop 8 Surabaya team so that the train journey would not be too late.

"We immediately coordinated with PPKA Bangil, PPKA Porong, Road Rel and Bangil Bridge Units, as well as the Security Unit for handling at the location and securing the railway line," he said.

As a result of this incident, two train trips were forced to be restrained to wait for the truck evacuation process to be completed, namely the Logawa train to Ketapang Station, which was stuck at Porong Station with a temporary delay of 189 minutes or more than 3 hours.

Then KA 155 Ranggajati to Jember, was stuck at Sidoarjo Station with a temporary delay of 80 minutes

"Until now, the two trains are still being held back because the truck evacuation process is still ongoing at the location," he said.

KAI Daop 9 has coordinated with Daop 8 Surabaya so that the evacuation process runs smoothly so that the route can be immediately safe for trains to pass.

"As a form of compensation to affected customers, KAI Daop 9 Jember has provided Service Recovery (SR) in the form of drinks and snacks to Logawa and Ranggajati train passengers in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.
