BGN Reports 211 Cases Of Poisoning Related To MBG Program Of 1.8 Billion Portion

JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana reported the implementation of the Free Nutritioning (MBG) program to Commission IX of the DPR. Dadan said that the total poisoning incidents that occurred in Indonesia were 441 cases, while MBG production had reached 1.8 billion servings.

The report was submitted by Dadan in a meeting to evaluate the program and absorption of the 2025 BGN budget with Commission IX of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 12.

"Regarding various incidents in the country, related to food poisoning in Indonesia in general. The total number of incidents in Indonesia to date is 441, the total incident in which MBG contributed 211 incidents or approximately 48 percent of the total food poisoning in Indonesia," said Dadan.

Dadan said there was a slight difference in data between BGN and the Ministry of Health. However, he ensured that his party would synchronize data with the Ministry of Health.

"And if you look at the total beneficiaries who receive health problems, there are 636 hospitalized in our data, 638 different in the Ministry of Health, but we will synchronize it," he said.

"Then the outpatients in our data are 11,004. At the Ministry of Health 12,755, the total is based on the Ministry of Health's report, 13,371 beneficiaries who experience health problems due to a nutritious eating program," he continued.

Dadan claims that the MBG program has produced a total of 1.8 billion servings that have been given to millions of beneficiaries in 38 provinces.

"Until today, we have produced a total of 1.8 billion portion of food, thank God, and thank God most of it went well," he said.

Dadan explained that the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program to date has reached more than 42 million people in 38 provinces, 509 regencies, and 7,022 sub-districts. The potential for MBG acceptance varies from babies under five years old which already covers almost 1.8 million people, early childhood education 1.1 million, Raudatul Adhfal 626 thousand, kindergarten 1.9 million, elementary school 1-3 7.7 million, and elementary school 4-6 as many as 7.75 million.

"So this is the majority group that currently has received nutritious food. Until then there is a group of pregnant women that already covers 267 thousand, then breastfeeding mothers 599 thousand, and there are also extraordinary schools that we serve 77 thousand, and Islamic boarding schools almost 316 thousand, seminars have 979 beneficiaries, and there are also centers for community learning activities, so there are 97 thousand formal schools," he explained.

"So this has varied, so it covers a total of 420,451 groups that we have achieved and all beneficiaries, thank God it has exceeded 50 percent of our total target by 2025. In fact, initially it was only 17.5 million and also with 5,000 SPPG we have gone far beyond, but this is the target to be accelerated and we want to pursue 82.9 million," continued Dadan.
