Gaza Records The Amputation Rate Of The World's Highest Children's Body Members

JAKARTA - The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the Gaza Strip currently recorded the highest number of child limbs amputation in the world, when compared to the population.

According to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO) issued in early October, more than 5,000 people had undergone amputation during Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, quoted from WAFA November 10.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health announced plans to launch an international fundraising and mobilization campaign to support special funding for the rehabilitation of amputees.

This initiative also aims to rebuild the Gaza rehabilitation system in order to achieve a sustainable recovery.

In addition, this initiative follows a recently released joint report that revealed an unprecedented decline in rehabilitation services across the Gaza Strip, due to extensive health infrastructure damage and a sharp increase in the number of injuries caused by Israeli aggression.

According to the report, the number of injured victims had exceeded 170,000 by September 2025, with at least a quarter expected to require medium and long-term rehabilitation treatment.

Data shows that Gaza is now recording the highest level of amputation of limbs among children around the world when compared to its population, reflecting the scale of health and humanitarian disasters in the Gaza Strip.
