The event was held to commemorate National Tree Day, as well as part of the Riau Police's commitment to strengthen the ecological movement.
Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryyawan said the massive tree planting movement was a real step for the police institution in preserving the environment, as well as expanding the value of Green Policing to become a work culture within the National Police.
"Inplanting 21,000 trees This is our moral and ecological effort to ensure that the earth remains maintained. We will move all Polres, Polsek, and Satker of the Riau Police so that this reforestation takes place massively, measurably, and sustainably," said Inspector General Herry, in his statement, Monday, November 10.

He said that every satker and Polres are required to document, record, and report the development of tree growth on a regular basis.
"This movement must have a long-term impact. It is not allowed to plant and then be abandoned. Every tree is a mandate, every planting point is the future," he said.
The Regional Police Chief said that the series of activities were carried out in stages, ranging from preparation of planting holes, transporting seeds, to planting simultaneously by all Polri personnel, Bhayangkari, students, students, nature lovers community, and the surrounding community.
Inspector General Herry explained that this big agenda is the foundation of the Riau Police's long movement in strengthening the ecological movement in Lancang Kuning earth.
"If trees are a physical heritage for the earth, then students are a legacy of thought for the future. This movement must work together. We plant trees while planting new, greener, more caring, and more responsible perspectives," said Inspector General Herry.

Dirbinmas Polda Riau Kombes Eko Budhi explained that the election for the OSIS chairman was not without reason. They are leaders of the school environment who have the influence and capacity to mobilize.
"The chairman of OSIS is the main driving force in his school. Through this workshop, we prepare them to become students who pioneer the environment in Riau. They will be connecting the message of Green Policing in schools, communities, and digital spaces," he explained.
