Man Dies Drowning In Cakung River While Taking A Shower

JAKARTA - A man named Pebriyan (33) was found drowned in the Cakung Drainage River, Sepatan Village, RT 18/05, Rorotan Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, Monday, November 10, 2025.

The local man drowned in the cloudy water when he was about to take a shower.

"We managed to evacuate the drowning people," said Head of North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. and Thousand Islands, Gatot Sulaeman.

The incident occurred on Sunday night at around 22.00 WIB. That night, the victim was about to take a shower.

"Not on purpose when he took off his clothes, something fell and was about to pick him up. At that time, he fell into the river of calcung drainage," he said.

The victim's family had searched the night of the incident, but the victim's body was not found. Then report to the fire department for the evacuation of the search.

"The family was searched for, but was not found. Then reported to the head of the RT, police and fire department. At 09.00 WIB, the fire department continued the search and at 11.05 WIB the victim was found," he said.

Gatot said that his party had deployed 3 units of the evacuation team, totaling 15 people.

"The evacuation is complete at 11.05 WIB," he said.
