BANDUNG - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Java (Jabar) raised the road budget which was originally valued at Rp. 400 billion to Rp. 4 trillion as a result of the government's routine cost efficiency policy.
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi in Bandung, Friday, said that all basic infrastructure in West Java Province with the funds is targeted to be completed in 2027 before continuing development to the next stage in 2028.
"We cut nearly 75 percent of the province's routine funds to be diverted to infrastructure development. The road budget, for example, increased from Rp400 billion to Rp4 trillion," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 7.
In addition, he also said that several other infrastructure budgets had also increased, such as irrigation budgets, installation of electricity networks, street lighting, and school repairs.
"The previous zero Irrigation is now IDR 500 billion, the installation of the electricity grid, which was previously zero, has now reached IDR 500 billion per year. Public street lighting, which used to be only worth IDR 20 billion, has now touched IDR 1 trillion. Likewise with school repairs, which were previously zero, now reached IDR 1 trillion," he added.
Dedi said that his party would prepare several further stages to develop infrastructure in West Java. One of the big plans is to collaborate with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) in providing better services.
"In 2028 we will start preparing the next stage. One of our big plans is to work with PT KAI to provide faster train services between Jakarta and Bandung with only 1 1.5 hours", he added.
