The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police has named two members of the Pekalongan Police as suspects in the alleged fraud case under the guise of the selection of candidates for the Semarang Police Academy (Akpol) cadets.

"A total of four suspects, two of whom are members of the Pekalongan Police with the initials F and AUK," said Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Central Java Police Kombes Dwi Subagio in Semarang, Antara, Wednesday, November 5.

The other two suspects are civilians with the initials SAP and JW who are said to be the masterminds of the fraud case. According to Dwi, the two police officers played a role in disseminating false information about the selection of Akpol admissions and being a liaison between the victim and the main perpetrator.

This case happened to Dwi Purwanto, a resident of Pekalongan Regency. The fraud occurred between December 2024 and April 2025.

The victim was offered by F and AUK to pass his son into the Semarang Police Academy on condition that he paid Rp3.5 billion. The victim had agreed and had submitted Rp2.6 billion.

However, the victim's child failed in the first stage of the medical test.

Dwi Subagio said that the victim was introduced to SAP and JW who claimed to have a connection with the leadership of the Police.

“SAP mengaku sebagai adik Kapolri yang bisa mengupayakan kuota seleksi Akpol, sementara JW mengaku mengenal banyak petinggi Polri untuk meyakinkan korban,” ujarnya.

Keempat tersangka kini dijerat dengan Pasal 378 KUHP tentang penipuan atau Pasal 372 KUHP tentang penggelapan.

"SAP claims to be the younger brother of the National Police Chief who can seek a quota for the selection of police officers, while JW admits that he knows many high-ranking police officers to convince victims," he said.

The four suspects are now charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code regarding fraud or Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement.
