PKB Waits For KPK's Official Statement Regarding Riau Governor Abdul Wahid's OTT

JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) was reluctant to comment further on the arrest of the Governor of Riau, Abdul Wahid in a hand arrest operation (OTT) carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, said that his party was still waiting for an official statement from the KPK regarding the arrest of Abdul Wahid, who is also a cadre of his party.

"Yes, we are waiting for an official statement from the KPK because we don't understand the case yet," said Cucun at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 4.

"Yesterday we received information and then asked what kind of information it was and after that we will see if this information from the KPK really leads to involvement," he continued.

Regarding legal assistance to Abdul Wahid, Cucun reiterated that PKB is still waiting for an official statement from the KPK. Including the question of party sanctions that will be imposed on Abdul Wachid.

"Yes, we'll wait. We don't know the status yet. Departing from the information that will be conveyed by the KPK. We can't take any steps yet," he said.

It is known that the KPK conducted an OTT against Riau Governor Abdul Wahid and nine other people. Abdul Wahid arrived at the KPK building, Jakarta on Tuesday, November 4.

The KPK has not explained the details of the case that made Abdul Wahid subject to OTT on Monday, November 3, the KPK said that a sum of money was secured in the OTT.

Those arrested by the KPK are still under investigation and will determine their legal status within 1x24 hours.
