JAKARTA The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has firmly asked the public, especially in Central Java, to increase awareness of the potential for extreme weather which is predicted to continue until early 2026.
The head of BNPB, Suharyanto, highlighted Central Java as an area that needs to be specifically watched out for.
"From the BMKG, this rainfall will take place quite massively for Central Java until early 2026," said Suharyanto, quoted from ANTARA, Monday, November 2025.
Observing the massive rainfall data, BNPB emphasized that mitigation, preparedness and capacity building of the community must be increased. This is a vital key to suppressing the bad effects of natural disasters which are feared to occur in line with the increase in extreme weather intensity.
"This is the key so that similar disasters do not occur or at least the impact can be suppressed in the future," concluded Suharyanto, reminding the public of the importance of collective awareness in dealing with climate threats.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released weather forecasts for Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in a number of parts of Indonesia, with the potential for light rain to heavy rain, even accompanied by lightning.
