Strong Warning, 15 SPPGs In Tangerang Violate Nutrition Standards

TANGERANG - The Tangerang District Health Office (Dinkes) gave a strong warning to 15 nutritional fulfillment service units (SPPG) after they were found not to meet the standard feasibility of food processing in the free nutritious eating program (MBG).

The head of the Tangerang District Health Office, Hendra Tarmizi, said that his party found various violations in the environmental health inspection (IKL) of 83 SPPGs operating in the area.

"There are various findings, there are foods that are not good, not fresh. Then there is an unfit storage area," he said, Monday, November 3.

Inspections are carried out on a number of important aspects, such as quality ready-to-eat food, raw foodstuffs, storage areas, cleaning of eating utensils, and a waste disposal system.

According to Hendra, the results of the examination showed malpractice in food processing in a number of SPPG kitchens which could potentially endanger the health of beneficiaries of the MBG program.

The dozens of SPPGs are now being urged to immediately make improvements to their kitchen system and infrastructure. "Everything must have been repaired. Otherwise, we will not train the food suppliers in that place," he said.

In addition to the warning, the Health Office also carried out direct guidance to SPPG managers who were proven to have violated so that they could improve the processing standards according to the rules. Some places were indeed found inappropriate. Related to this, we have fostered them to know how to repair their kitchens and food processing," said Hendra.

The Tangerang District Health Office plans to carry out regular re-examination to ensure all recommendations have been implemented. "After they replace the damaged ones and improve cleanliness, we will come again to reassess," he concluded.
