Police Are Looking For The Cause Of The Overturned Fuel Tank Truck Triggering The Burning Of 6 Shophouses And 3 Houses

JAKARTA - The Cianjur Resort Police (Polres) in West Java, explored the exact cause of the fire that scorched six shophouses and three houses and seven vehicles on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, after the fuel tanker truck had an accident and then caught fire.

The head of the Cianjur Police Traffic Unit, AKP Hardian Andrianto, said the initial chronology of the fire trigger started with a tanker truck that lost control overturned with a fuel load of 2,400 liters spilled over at the scene.

"Before the truck that was traveling from Bandung to Sukabumi had hit a truck loaded with mineral water parked on the side of the road, all the fuel in the truck spilled over at the location," he said in Cianjur, Sunday, November 2, which was confiscated by Antara.

After a few moments of sparks that caused a fire at a number of points in the Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan area, the fire burned down a number of shophouse buildings including a police post where four vehicles were parked in front of them.

To ensure the sparks, he said, currently the Cianjur Police Inavis team and Cianjur Fire Department, conducted an in-depth investigation and investigation because eye witness information stated that the sparks started from the direction of the fuel spill at the Perintis Kemerdekaan-Pasirhayam roundabout.

"Investigations and investigations were carried out by the Cianjur Police Inavis, to ascertain where the sparks came from, causing fires at a number of points including shophouse buildings and police posts and vehicles," he said.

He explained that after the truck rolled over with a fuel load spilled onto the road, there was no immediate fire, but after a few minutes there were sparks that grabbed fuel that had flowed as far as a few tens of meters.

Even eyewitnesses had seen the fire burning in the waterways around the location, as well as several times the sound of an explosion that was quite loud, so the residents scattered away from the location.

"Meanwhile, when the fire grew, a number of witnesses saw a motorcyclist asking for help because the fire grabbed his body, the victim was immediately taken to the Cianjur Sayang Hospital for medical assistance," he said.

Monitoring until Sunday, November 2 morning, joint officers were still trying to evacuate a number of burning vehicles using large cranes. Police lines are installed from the Pasirhayam Roundabout to the location of the truck crashing.

Meanwhile, Cianjur firefighters are still cooling down to ensure that the fire does not return to light in a number of shophouse buildings that caught fire, including in three houses located behind them.
