CFD Sudirman-Thamrin Implemented During The Jakarta Running Festival, Pramono: To Give A Sense Of Security

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government canceled the free day of motorized vehicles or car free day (CFD) in Sudirman-Thamrin on Sunday, October 26, 2025 due to the Jakarta Running Festival 2025 event.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung explained the reasons for the elimination of CFD this weekend in order to maintain the safety and comfort of marathon participants and avoid the accumulation of visitors.

"Why (the elimination of CFD) do we do it? To provide a sense of security, comfort. We really want one, two, three years into the future, hopefully in 500 years in Jakarta, Jakarta's anniversary, Jakarta Running Festival can advance to class," said Pramono at GBK, Central Jakarta, Thursday, October 23.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government has also implemented the closure of a number of roads so that the Jakarta Running Festival activities can run smoothly. This information, according to Pramono, has also been announced through the installation of billboards and videotrons at a number of points.

"That is my complete hope to provide support, why then along the way we will protect it," said Pramono.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency said that CFD activities in Sudirman-Thamrin were abolished. This elimination refers to Governor Regulation Number 12 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of Motor Vehicle Free Day.

"The Jakarta Running Festival 2025 activities require special traffic and security arrangements, so for Sunday, October 26, 2025, the implementation of motor vehicle free days will be eliminated," said Syafrin.

The Jakarta Running Festival will be held for 2 days. On Saturday, October 25 for the 5 kilometer and 21 kilometer hall marathon categories. On Sunday, October 26, it was held for the full marathon category 10 kilometers and 42 kilometers.
