The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) summoned the Head of the NTB Maritime and Fisheries Service (DKP), Muslim, to provide information regarding alleged corruption in the marine reclamation project in the Gili Gede waters area, West Lombok Regency.

Assistant for Special Crimes at the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Muh. Zulkifli Said said that the request for information was carried out in the investigation stage.

"Yes, Mr. Muslim as Head of the NTB Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service was questioned today by our fellow investigators regarding the problem of sea reclamation in Gili Gede waters," said Zulkifli in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, October 21.

Muslim confirmed the summons after giving information to investigators at around 14.00 WITA. He said that he was asked to clarify in his capacity as Head of the NTB DKP and also the former Head of Coastal and Small Islands.

"The link is with the problem of whether the activity in Gili Gede is categorized as reclamation or not. That's what is being asked," said Muslim.

He explained that the activities in the spotlight were piles of rocks and land in the form of small islands covering an area of about four are across from the inn area belonging to PT Thamarind Resort.

Muslims say PT Thamarind Resort has had a water location permit since November 2019 which is valid for two years. However, after the issuance of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, the status of the permit needs to be adjusted to the new derivative rules.

"Legally, the permit is okay. There are no problems, just adjust to the derivative rules of Law Number 11 of 2020," he said.

He emphasized that the NTB Provincial Government has never issued a reclamation permit in Gili Gede because the area is included in the conservation area and sea flow as stipulated in Presidential Decree No. 122 of 2012 concerning the Implementation of Reclamation.

"I don't dare say it's reclamation or not. What is clear is that they applied for permission for the construction of a dock and water interest," he said.

Muslims suggest that the prosecutor's office ask for expert opinion to ascertain whether the activity is classified as reclamation or not.

"Because my capacity is not there. I am purely talking about the rules," he said.

He added that he supports the prosecutor's steps to investigate this issue in order to provide legal certainty for investment in the regions.

"In principle, I appreciate the prosecutor's office for processing all of this. Let there be clarity and legal certainty," he said.
