JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still pursuing assets belonging to Satori and Heri Gunawan legislators who are suspects in the CSR Bank Indonesia (BI)-Financial Services Authority (OJK) corruption case.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the assets currently being sought were allegedly bought with corruption money. Thus, the search that led to the confiscation will be carried out.

"So this is indeed a lot of assets allegedly related to the criminal act of corruption in the processing of social programs at Bank Indonesia and OJK," Budi told reporters, Friday, October 17.

"So that investigators are still intensely conducting searches and confiscation of allegedly related assets," he continued.

Furthermore, Budi said, the pursuit of these assets is important for the anti-corruption commission to recover state losses. Thus, the two suspects have not yet been detained.

"This means that the KPK is not only concerned about how to provide a deterrent effect to the perpetrators but also the KPK is concerned about restoring state finances," he said.

"So that when there are elements of asset hiding that are suspected to have come from the predicate of crime, namely from the criminal act of corruption, then the KPK will continue to search for these assets with the imposition of money laundering offenses," continued Budi.
