Defendant In The Rudapaksa Case Becomes A City Detainee According To The Determination Of The Praya District Court

LOMBOK - The Central Lombok District Attorney, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, stated that M, a defendant in a forced (sexual harassment) case, was detained by the city after being appointed by a panel of judges at the Praya District Court.

Head of Intel Kejari Central Lombok I Made Juri Imanu said the prosecutor's office remains committed to the law enforcement process against child protection cases carried out professionally, uprightly and upholds the principles of justice.

"We remain committed to enforcing the rules in accordance with the law," he said in Central Lombok, Antara, Friday, October 17.

He said that the case on behalf of Defendant M had been handed over the suspect and evidence (Phase II) on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the Central Lombok District Attorney's office by Central Lombok Police Investigators.

Then the Central Lombok District Attorney detained the detention center of the defendant M at the Central Lombok Police Detention Center, as stated in the Detention Order (T-7) of the Head of the Central Lombok District Attorney number: PRINT-2002/N.2.11/Eoh.2/09/2025 dated September 25, 2025, on the basis of the Detention Order, it has been followed up with the Minutes of Implementation of Detention Orders (BA-7) dated September 25, 2025.

"That the case has been transferred to the Praya District Court as stated in the Delegation Letter of the Ordinary Examination Event Number: B-5190/N.2.11/Eoh.2/09/2025 dated September 25, 2025," he said.

I Made, who was accompanied by the Head of the Pidum Section of the Central Lombok Kejari, Fajar emphasized that as the defendant M had become a judge's custody based on the Delegation Letter of the Ordinary Examination Event Number: B-5190/N.2.11/Eoh.2/09/2025 dated September 25, 2025.

Then the Prosecutor carried out the determination of the Panel of Judges of the Praya District Court number: 213/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Praya dated September 25, 2025 for city detention.

"Yang menyatakan bahwa terdakwa ditahan dengan pensihan kota sejak tanggal 25 September 2025 sampai dengan tanggal 24 Oktober 2025," katanya.

In addition, based on a letter of application from the Praya District Court Number: 1571/KPN.W25-U6/HK2.1/IX/2025 dated September 25, 2025 regarding the installation of Electronic Supervisory Equipment (APE) on the grounds that the Defendant has heart disease (emergency hypertension) and appears abnormal in EKG.

"That the case is set for the day of the first trial on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, as stipulated in Number: 213/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Praya dated September 25, 2025 with the agenda of reading the indictment from the public prosecutor," he said.

Then the second trial was on Monday, October 13, 2025, with the agenda of examining witnesses from the public prosecutor, where the Public Prosecutor presented 3 (three) witnesses including the victim's child.

"The trial will continue on Thursday, October 23, 2025, with the agenda of examining witnesses a de charge from the defendant's legal advisor," he said.

Previously, the Central Lombok Police Satreskrim arrested the defendant M, a resident of Kopang District on suspicion of sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old child, which was reported by the victim's family in April 2025.

Head of Public Relations of the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Lalu Brata Kusnandi, said the suspect's file had been transferred to the Central Lombok District Attorney (Kejari).

"Wednesday, August 3, 2025, has been secured. Hopefully the file will be P21 soon," said IPTU Lalu Brata Kusnandi, Sunday, October 7.

The perpetrator was suspected of committing a lecherous act in March 2025 with the mode of picking up the victim and being invited to the perpetrator's house.

Arriving at the perpetrator's house, the victim was invited into the room and told to take off his clothes until he was naked.

The victim refused but the perpetrator forced to release him and the victim reported the incident to his brother, so he reported it to the Central Lombok Police on April 29, 2025.
