JAKARTA - The DPR leadership asked the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), as well as the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) to audit and evaluate the broadcasting rights permit of private television stations, Trans7 following the show that alluded to Lirboyo Islamic boarding schools.
This is a conclusion of the meeting of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives I Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal with the Director General of Public Communication and the Director General of Digital Space Supervision Komdigi, Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), President Director of Trans7 and the Lirboyo Santri Association at the DPR building, Thursday, October 16.
Cucun said the DPR appreciated the KPI's steps regarding the problems that occurred in Trans7 for the broadcast of the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School by imposing a temporary cessation of the Xpose Uncentored Trans7 broadcast program.
"Even earlier, it was not just a temporary suspension, there was no longer that program," said Cucun.
"Secondly, the Indonesian House of Representatives asked the Ministry of Commissioners and the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission to jointly conduct an audit to evaluate the broadcasting rights permit from Trans7 as stated by KPI," he continued.
Third, continued Cucun, the DPR asked Komdigi, KPI and all relevant government institutions to be present to respond to public reactions to Trans7 broadcasts by giving strict sanctions in accordance with the results of the audit between Komdigi and KPI.
"For this reason, to KPI and Komdigi as well as Trans7, that is what was conveyed by KPI and also the clarification that Trans7 has submitted, including the demands related to owners rather than Trans Corp and so on," said Cucun.

Cucun explained that the case became a historical lesson for all parties living in this republic to uphold the principles and foundations of the life of the nation of state, respect each other, and respect each other's tolerance.
"Then also understand about the diversity of public spaces which must be a record for all the world of the TV industry, radio industry or any broadcast, including social media. This is part of the lessons we must take," added Cucun.
The Xpose Uncensored program, Trans7 previously showed a video showing students and worshipers playing the sitting kiai. There is also a video of a kiai getting out of the car.
What is considered very inappropriate is the narration of the voice from the video which states that the students are willing to sag and give the envelope to the kiai. According to the bulwark, the rich kiai should be the one who gives the envelope to the students.
The footage of the show immediately received a strong reaction. Netizens also called for a boycott of Trans7.
