Ammar Zoni Sent To Nusakambangan, Ditjenpas Affirms 'Zero Drugs Dead Price'

The Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) transferred six high risk prisoners from Jakarta to the Super Maximum Security Karanganyar Penitentiary, Nusakambangan, Central Java.

One of them is the celebrity Ammar Zoni, who was later suspected of being involved in a drug trafficking case.

Head of the Sub-Directorate for Cooperation of the Directorate General of Police, Rika Aprianti, explained that the six inmates arrived in Nusakambangan on Thursday morning at around 07.43 WIB.

The transfer was carried out under strict escort from the Ditjenpas Internal Intelligence and Compliance Security Officer, East Jakarta Police, Police Headquarters, and the Jakarta Ditjenpas Regional Office.

"This is proof that the warning of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections as well as the Director General of Corrections is serious. Anyone involved in drug trafficking will be dealt with," said Rika in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, October 16.

Ammar Zoni and five other inmates will undergo super maximum security and guidance as standards for inmates at high risk in Nusakambangan.

"This step is expected to change their behavior for the better in accordance with the goals of the correctional system," he said.

Since the leadership of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto, more than 1,500 high risk inmates have been transferred to Nusakambangan.

This policy aims to protect prisons and remand centers from the practice of drug trafficking, security disturbances, and other disciplinary violations.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Jakarta, Heri Azhari, emphasized that his party would continue to clean prisons and detention centers from illicit drug trafficking.

"As the Minister and Director General of Social Affairs always reminds us, zero drugs are fixed prices. This is an alarm for us to continue to be vigilant and act," said Heri.

It is known that Ammar Zoni is a convict in a narcotics abuse case who is currently serving his sentence at Cipinang Prison. However, in early October 2025, he was again dragged into a legal case after being suspected of being involved in a drug trafficking network at the Salemba Detention Center along with five other suspects.
