Asking Islamic Boarding Schools To Immediately Manage Building Permits, Cak Imin: Free Business

Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM) Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) asked the pesantren manager to immediately apply for a building permit (IMB) and building approval (PBG) if they have not yet obtained it.

This request was conveyed by Cak Imin to prevent the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building again in another pesantren.

According to Cak Imin, the management of IMB and PBG for Islamic boarding schools can be done free of charge and the government is working on this mechanism.

"It will continue to be made free for Islamic boarding schools because of the Islamic Boarding School Law, Law Number 18 of 2020 puts pesantren as a non-profit community institution activity unit and usually can get assistance from the central and regional governments," said Cak Imin at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry. PM, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 14.

Cak Imin realizes that currently there are still many pesantren that do not understand the importance of issuing IMB and PBG when building pesantren. They also do not understand the submission mechanism to the risk if they do not have the two permits.

"There are still many of our pesantren who do not understand how to IMB, how to PBG one, don't know. Don't understand how to do it technically," said Cak Imin.

Therefore, the government is now stepping in to improve the governance of pesantren education infrastructure through the signing of a joint agreement between the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Public Works, and the Minister of Home Affairs regarding Synergy.

Cak Imin stated that the signing of this joint inter-ministerial agreement was a form of state presence for Islamic boarding schools as instructed by President Prabowo Subianto.

"The most important thing is that our students, students, and our students, must continue to maintain a sense of security, a comfortable sense of adequate environment so that the environment is conducive to teaching and learning," he explained.

In this case, the Ministry of Public Works plays a role in ensuring building security, the Ministry of Religion acts as a facilitator for fostering pesantren, and the Ministry of Home Affairs plays a role in ensuring that local governments conduct audits of the condition of Islamic boarding schools.

"A thorough audit and mitigation must be carried out. This is in accordance with the direction of Mr. President Prabowo, we must work hand in hand so that the teaching and learning process in Islamic boarding schools can be conducive," he added.
