Green SM Electric Taxi Struck By Train, Passengers Angry

JAKARTA - A taxi car from the Green SM company was struck by the back of the train at the railroad crossing rail, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Friday, October 10.

An eyewitness, Muhammad Nasir (60), admitted that the incident occurred when the driver stopped too close to the railroad crossing.

Earlier the train wanted to pass, I had told you to stop the taxi. I said, 'Sir stop, too close to the train'. But he didn't want to back down. The head of the train passing is still safe, but the tail is the one (braying) the car," said Nasir, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, October 10.

After the car was struck by the train, he continued, the female passenger who was in the taxi immediately got down and looked angry with the driver.

"The passenger immediately got off with anger, saying 'You too, you keep playing your cellphone, you're told to withdraw, you don't want to'. A mother went on a motorcycle taxi," he said.

Meanwhile, taxi driver Pataras (54) denied allegations that he was playing with his cellphone while driving.

"I didn't play with my cellphone. How could I see the maps for passengers. Suddenly I was asked to stop, I stopped, eh, I was even grabbed by the tail of the train. There was also no sound, right, the railroadstop was not closed either. I was shocked, suddenly I was told to stop, so I stopped," he said.

According to him, the only passenger who was only one person was not injured.

"Only hit the back of the train, the passengers immediately got out but that's okay," he said.

The car that was struck has been secured to the side of the road, while the traffic flow around the location returns to normal.
