JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives Arsul Sani said President Jokowi's statement about the transfer of kpk employee status to ASN should not harm the rights of employees is in line with the decision of the Constitutional Court on the material test of the KPK Law.

"The policy line presented by the President is in accordance with the commitment of the legislator. Namely the Dpr and the Government when discussing the Bill of Amendment to the KPK Law which then becomes law 19/2019," Arsul told reporters, Monday, May 17.

Members of the Working Committee (Panja) of the KPK Bill said that the legislative and executive commitment is not to use the resulting Law, namely Law 19/2019 to dismiss or reduce KPK employees.

"If it is reduced then it happens because there are employees who resign because for example do not want to be ASN, not 'backdated' by utilizing the requirements of legislation that happens to be considered unfulfillable," explained Arsul.

According to the chairman of the DPR PPP Faction, in the process of transferring the status of KPK employees to ASN, if it does not meet certain requirements, then first given the opportunity to pass. Instead of being immediately dismissed.

"So in short what was put forward by the President showed that he holds his commitment to the KPK," said Arsul Sani.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) confirmed that the absence of 75 employees in the assessment of national insight tests (TWK) could not necessarily be used as a reason for the dismissal of employees related to the transfer of ASN status. Tests for the transfer of ASN status should not harm the rights of KPK employees.

"I agree with the consideration of the Constitutional Court in the test decision of Law No. 19 of 2019 on the second amendment to the Law (KPK) which states that the process of transferring the status of KPK employees to ASN should not harm the right of KPK employees to be appointed as ASN," Jokowi said in a statement quoted via YouTube presidential secretariat, Monday, May 17.

Jokowi stressed that KPK must have the best human resources and be highly committed in efforts to eradicate corruption. Therefore, the transfer of kpk employee status to ASN should be part of a more systematic effort to eradicate corruption.
