JAKARTA - The government through the Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas ensures that the evaluation of the Extraordinary Event (KLB) of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program is carried out quickly and thoroughly.

This was conveyed by Zulhas at a press conference related to the MBG KLB at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Office, Jakarta, Thursday, October 2.

"The government continues to ensure that MBG is safe, MBG is the right of all citizens to become a superior generation. The government continues to respond quickly because according to the President's instructions, we will improve the system and governance of MBG as a whole," said Zulhas, quoted by Antara.

Zulhas emphasized that the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has determined that it will close all Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) which have been proven to have caused the KLB.

Meanwhile, Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin emphasized that supervision of the MBG Program will also involve the largest unit of recipients.

"The largest units are in the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (about 450 thousand schools). We involve these food recipient schools to carry out full supervision before MBG is distributed, ranging from color, smell, physical, mucus or not," said Minister of Health Budi.

The Minister of Health added that every six months, beneficiaries will try to measure their height and weight to ensure that MBG is right on target.

"Every six months, beneficiaries will be measured as high and weight, by name by address completing free health checks for school children," said Minister of Health Budi.
