JAKARTA - The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenmipas) has stated that it will propose three names of candidates for the Director General (Dirjen) of Immigration as a result of the selection of the High Leadership Open Selection Committee (Pansel) (JPT) to President Prabowo Subianto.

Deputy Minister of Imipas and Chairman of the Pansel Silmy Karim said the three candidates were Yuldi Yusman, Ibnu Ismoyo, and Ahmad Purbaja.

The three selected people were participants with the highest accumulated value assessed at each selection stage. So indeed those who passed were the best candidates," said Silmy, who is also the former Director General of Immigration in a statement in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, October 2.

The selection of candidates for the Director General of Immigration will be carried out from July 22 to September 23, 2025. The selection stages include administrative selection, technical competency tests, managerial and socio-cultural competency tests, interviews, health tests, and track record assessments.

Yuldi Yusman, who has the rank of Brigadier General of Police, is currently the Acting Director General of Immigration. Ibnu Ismoyo is the Head of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs Planning and Finance Bureau, while Ahmad Purbaja is from the North Maluku Provincial Government Financial and Asset Management Agency.

This open selection is a follow-up to the Letter of the Minister of State Secretary Number B-1/Seskab/D-6/04/2025 dated 23 April 2025 concerning the Establishment of the Open Selection Committee for Filling JPT Utama and JPT Madya at Ministries/Provinces/Institutions, as well as the Letter of the Minister of State Secretary Number R-230/M/SDK/PA.01.03/07/2025 dated July 3, 2025 regarding the Filling of JPT Madya in the Ministry of Immunity.

Silmy said that the selection of positions of the Director General of Immigration was based on the principles of transparency, carried out strictly, based on merit, open, and competitiveness to attract leaders who have good integrity, competence, and track record.

Menurut dia, jabatan Dirjen Imigrasi memiliki posisi strategis dan krusial karena berperan mengatur serta mengawasi perlintasan orang yang masuk dan keluar wilayah Indonesia.

“Proses seleksi Dirjen Imigrasi adalah bagian dari upaya kami dalam mewujudkan tata kelola pemerintahan yang profesional, transparan, dan akuntabel. Kami berharap pimpinan yang terpilih nantinya dapat membawa Ditjen Imigrasi semakin baik sehingga pengawasan orang asing dan pelayanan publik menjadi optimal,” tutur Silmy.
