Tangerang Regency Government Closes 81 Waste Lapak Without Permit In Sindang Jaya

TANGERANG - The Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab) in Banten Province, closed and sealed 81 locations of unlicensed or illegal waste stalls in the Sindang Jaya District, Tangerang Regency.

The Head of Sindang Jaya Sub-district, Galih Prakosa, said that the closure of dozens of waste stalls was carried out in joint operations in following up on the findings of the supervisory team in the field.

"There are 81 points in us, and that is our target. However, from the 81 points we have identified, the volume of the waste is indeed large and sent from outside, both from outside the district and sub-district," he said in Tangerang, Tuesday, was confiscated by Antara.

He conveyed that from dozens of locations where the waste management was suspected of having violated the provisions related to environmental approval and technical approval in the field of waste management.

However, local governments take firm action against waste business actors who violate environmental regulations in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations.

"So those who are still routinely carrying out operations/burning garbage (limbah), that's what we are doing," he said.

Galih said, during the control/sealing operation carried out since Monday, September 29, until now there are 22 waste stalls that have been sealed and permanently closed. Where, on average, their violation violates the licensing and management of waste by burning illegally.

"Yesterday we had 15 points in Sindang Jaya village and today there are seven points in Sindang Panon Village and we will continue to other villages," he said.

He also explained that during the prosecution, his party found many waste management locations standing near residential areas and on land owned by property development company Suvana Sutra.

Therefore, efforts to control massively will continue to be carried out by local governments in anticipation of serious violations of land control belonging to others from the waste business.

In addition, the existence of activities from this illegal waste business has also endangered the safety and health of the surrounding community. The reason is, these entrepreneurs are openly burning garbage.

"The Tangerang Regency Satpol PP apparatus will continue to monitor, because many developer lands have been found for waste collection. This will be closed, so there are steps from developers to their land which are used illegally by the community," he said.

In this case, the Tangerang Regency Government also emphasized that if waste entrepreneurs are found to be stubborn and violate the rules, then his party will take firm action in the form of criminal sanctions.

"There are criminal sanctions, especially in the realm of developers, if the developers are clearly used by the land owned by them illegally by the community, there will be criminal sanctions," he said.
