Russia's Open Doors 2025 Scholarship Has Been Opened, Check The Conditions Here

YOGYAKARTA - International scholarships are increasingly in demand because they offer the opportunity to study abroad with full support. One of the scholarship programs that attracted attention was the Russian Open Doors Scholarship. This program first started in 2017 and is now reopening for the 2025 period.

This scholarship is intended for international students who want to study in Russia at undergraduate, master, doctoral, to postdoctoral levels. Every year, more than one hundred thousand applicants from various countries participate in this selection.

For this year, registration is open from September 1 to November 16. This program covers 14 fields of interdisciplinary studies, ranging from natural science, technology, to social science. With full financing from the Russian government, Open Doors is one of the best routes to pursue higher education abroad.

Each level of education has different age criteria and academic backgrounds. For undergraduate programs (S1), applicants must be 16-23 years old, do not have a bachelor's degree or master's degree, and have completed equivalent secondary education to university.

For the master's program (S2), applicants aged 20-33 years, do not yet have a master's degree, and have completed or are currently studying. While the doctoral program (S3) is intended for those aged 22-35 years, do not yet have a doctorate, and have graduated or are completing a master's program.

Meanwhile, the postdoctoral program requires participants aged 24-39 years and already have a doctorate (PhD or equivalent). This requirement ensures that only candidates who meet academic qualifications and age can compete in the selection.

Selection of Open Doors Scholarships is carried out in stages according to the level of education. For undergraduate and master's channels, the selection consists of two stages, namely the portfolio competition and the completion of Open Doors tasks. These two stages aim to assess the academic abilities and potential of prospective students.

For doctoral program registrants, the selection is stricter with three stages. After the portfolio competition and Open Doors assignments, participants must undergo interviews with prospective research supervisors or doctoral program managers. This process helps match research interests with the skills of the supervisory lecturer.

On the postdoctoral route, selection is also carried out in three stages. The first is the portfolio competition, then the interview selection based on the presentation of the research video that has been submitted, and the last is an interview with the project leadership. This process ensures that only the best candidates get the research position.

This scholarship offers various advantages that make it very competitive. For scholarship recipients of S1, S2, or S3, all tuition fees are fully borne for programs taught in Russian and English. In addition, participants can choose universities and majors according to their interests through an efficient integrated system.

Students who choose Russian language programs will also get free language courses for one year. Continuous academic support is given throughout the study period, so international students don't have to worry about facing adaptation difficulties.

For the postdoctoral route, profits are more focused on the research world. Scholarship recipients can choose research projects at Russia's top universities, work under the guidance of international scientists, and use sophisticated research facilities. This postdoctoral position also received full support from the organizing university.
