Indonesian Ambassador And OKI State In Romania Hold Solidarity Action For Palestine

The Indonesian Ambassador to Romania and Moldova Meidyatama Suryodiningrat together with the Ambassadors of member countries of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OKI) in Romania held a solidarity action for Palestine in Bucharest, Thursday.

The ambassadors of the OIC countries held a meeting with Romanian Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia Oiu at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the situation in the Middle East.

The Ambassadors also called for criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza, Palestine and recent attacks on Doha, Qatar.

In his statement representing the Ambassadors of the OIC countries, Ambassador Meidyatama expressed his appreciation for the Romanian Government's support for Palestine with the recognition of the Palestinian state and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.

"We call on the international community to be active in stopping Israel's actions and creating peace in the Middle East," Ambassador Meidyatama said in a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Bucharest, Friday, September 12.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia oiu welcomed the Ambassadors of OKI countries in Romania, expressing her gratitude for the open dialogue and close cooperation.

Foreign Minister Oana Silvia oiu emphasized the urgency of expanding humanitarian access to Gaza, updating the ceasefire agreement and releasing hostages.

After a meeting with the Romanian Foreign Minister, the Ambassador of the OIC countries conducted a solidarity stand in front of the Palestinian Embassy in Bucharest, Romania.

The Ambassadors voiced deep concern over the development of the situation in Palestine and strongly condemned Israel's attack on Doha, Qatar.

In a statement representing the Ambassadors of the OIC countries at the time of solidarity stand, Ambassador Meidyatama also conveyed a call to all countries to stop Israeli actions in Palestine.

In addition to the Indonesian Ambassador, this solidarity action was followed by the Ambassadors of Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey.
