JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that he was asked to realize the construction of a new building for the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). Responding to this, Pramono asked his subordinates to complete the construction as a form of cooperation between the government and PMI.

This was revealed by Pramono in the inauguration and inauguration of the Honorary Council and the Provincial Management of PMI DKI Jakarta for the 2025-2030 term of service.

"Anyway, the cooperation is very good. One of the provinces that is working very well is DKI Jakarta Province with PMI DKI Jakarta. Including, I was whispered to the construction of the building, meaning that I asked it to be completed until it was finished," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, September 10.

According to Pramono, PMI officers must be prepared to carry out the task of donating blood to the community. Not to mention, if there are unexpected incidents such as disasters.

"The need for blood in Jakarta is indeed vital, so we are grateful for the good cooperation with PMI, which is almost every day. The needs are 1,000 to 1,200, thank God, so far it has been fulfilled properly," said Pramono.

Continuing, the Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta PMI, Beky Mardani, explained that the DKI Provincial Government is currently building a new PMI center building with the same location in the existing building, namely the Kramat area, Central Jakarta.

"The old building was completely demolished. What is certain is that it will become a PMI building, maybe even better than a development center. We will be the best," explained Beky.

The plan is that the construction of a new building donated by the DKI Provincial Government to PMI will be completed by the end of November. Beky hopes that this new building will have more capable facilities.

"Of the number of floors alone, we are the most magnificent, of course, and the matter of the laboratory that will be used technologically will be the best in Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, Beky revealed that the work of PMI officers is also not limited to operating hours such as employees. They must be on standby for 24 hours to serve people who need blood donations.

"How is the need, local government support, and community support, because we help the community. All donations are not owned by PMI, returned to the community. Those are the basic principles of reddening that we are undergoing," he explained.
