Foreign Minister Lavrov Calls The West Wrongly Using The Role Of Dollars To Suppress Competitors

JAKARTA - Western countries are trying to maintain their dominance on the world stage by abusing dollars to pressure their competitors, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

Foreign Minister Lavrov noted that the West is doing everything possible to prevent the emergence of a multipolar world and maintain its dominance, "using direct extortion, pressure, and sanctions, instead of fair negotiations and competition."

"The West also misuses the role of the dollar in global affairs, imposing tariff wars on all parties around it," Foreign Minister Lavrov said in an interview with his quote published on the Telegram channel of VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.

"All of this has nothing to do with defending the legitimate rights of the West in the global economy and politics, but it is only used as a means to suppress competitors," he added.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Minister noted now it is clear to everyone, "These competitors not only grew stronger, but in many ways have surpassed the historical Western collective."
