Sadistic Murder In West Lombok, Police Reveal Imam Hidayat's Motive For Hitting And Shooting Nurminah Out Of Jealousy

The West Lombok Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara, revealed that the suspect Imam Hidayat was burned by a jealous fire and eventually shot Nurminah in the head using a long-barreled air rifle.

"The motive for this murder stems from the jealousy felt by the perpetrator against the victim," said Head of the West Lombok Police Satreskrim AKP Lalu Eka Mardiwinata by telephone in Mataram, Antara, Wednesday, August 27.

Before shooting the victim in the head, the suspect abused him by hitting the victim in the face. The wound on the victim's left temple became the former abuse.

After unconscious, the victim's body was dragged by the perpetrator and put into a well with a depth of three meters in the kitchen area.

The suspect then closed the hole with building materials and covered the surface with a mixture of sand cement.

With the disclosure of this mode and motive, Imam Hidayat was named a suspect based on the results of the case title.

The police found evidence that corroborated Imam Hidayat's indication of violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder and/or Article 338 of the Criminal Code regarding murder and/or Article 351 Paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code regarding persecution resulting in the loss of the lives of others.

"On the article we suspect, the suspect is threatened with severe punishment, starting from a maximum imprisonment of 20 years, life imprisonment, even the death penalty," he said.

From this determination, the police followed up by detaining Imam Hidayat at the West Lombok Police Detention Center.

Nurminah's body was found for the first time on Friday, August 22. After the discovery, the police investigated the owner of the house and managed to secure Imam Hidayat in the early hours of Saturday the next morning.

The victim was reported missing by the family since August 10, 2025. In fact, the family received a message from the victim's cellphone number who said he was going to go to work abroad. However, the family suspected that the message was not from the deceased.

For handling this case, the police have installed a police line and strictly guarded the scene.
