Searching Immanuel Ebenezer's House Today, KPK Finds 4 Cellphones On Ceiling

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the house of former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer today.

The KPK is looking for evidence of alleged extortion in the management of health and work safety certification (K3) after conducting a hand arrest operation (OTT) some time ago.

"After the arrests were carried out last week, investigators then moved quickly to conduct searches at several location points and today the team conducted a search at a house in the Pancoran area, namely the house of brother IEG," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, August 26.

Budi explained that investigators found a number of evidences allegedly related to the case being handled. Among them are cellphones as electronic evidence and cars.

"And today the investigators immediately brought it," he said.

Investigators found four cellphones. The items allegedly belonged to Immanuel Ebenezer and were found on the ceiling of the house.

"Investigators found four cellphones on the ceiling of the house concerned," said Budi.

This finding will then be investigated. In addition to the extraction, Budi said investigators would certainly question the purpose of the cellphone being stored in the ceiling of the house.

"Whether it was deliberately hidden or put the cellphone on the ceiling, yes, of course later in the examination process, the person concerned will also be asked," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK named 11 suspects in connection with the alleged extortion of handling work safety and health certificates (K3). This determination began with a hand arrest operation (OTT) that arrested 14 people, including the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer.

The following is a list of suspects named by the KPK:

1. Irvian Bobby Mahendro as Coordinator for Institutional and Personnel Affairs K3 of 2022-2025; 2. Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra as Coordinator for Testing and Evaluation of Work Safety Competency until now; 3. Subhan as Sub-Coordinator of Work Safety Dit. K3 Development in 2020-2025;4. Anitasari Kusumawati as Coordinator of Partnerships and Work Health Personnel in 2020 until now; 5. Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan as Deputy Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024-2029;6. Fahrurozi as Director General of Binwasnaker and K3 in March 2025 until now; 7. Hery Sutanto as Director of Institutional Development in 2021-February 2025; 8. Sekarsari Kartika Putri as sub-coordinator; 9. Supriadi as coordinator; 10. Temurila as PT KEM Indonesia; and 11. Miki Mahfud as PT KEM Indonesia's party.

The determination of the suspect began with an intensive examination and found two pieces of evidence after the silent operation was carried out. It is suspected that this extortion has been going on for a long time.

This allegation arose because of the large amount of evidence found, namely 15 cars and 7 motorbikes and Rp170 million and US$2,201 in cash.

Meanwhile, Immanuel Ebenezer has been removed from his position as Wamenaker by President Prabowo Subianto. This decision was taken after his legal status was announced by the KPK and submitted to the public by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi.
