JAKARTA - The Russian military has received new supplies of drones that have gained increased durability, allowing reconnaissance for days.

Director of Export Drone and Ammunition Loitering Kalashnikov Group Leonid Rokeakh said his party supplies Russian troops with 20-day-resilient Kvazimachta drones that have been upgraded in special military operations areas.

"For up to 500 hours (the ability of drones to stay in the air). Yes, this drone can operate during that time. Usually, there is no need for such continuous operations," he told TASS as quoted on August 20.

"Usually, this drone operates for 24 hours. That means, this drone floats in the air, then the operator lowers it to check if everything is fine and whether the diesel generator can be replaced or other maintenance is carried out," he explained explaining that the drone was used in a special military operation in Ukraine.

He further said that this drone is always active, powered and the data is transmitted via cable. This drone is tasked with protecting the perimeter or location.

In addition to military interests, this system can also be used for civilian purposes, for example, for monitoring during mass events, said Rokeakh.

The Kvazimachta equipment lifting system is designed for the long-term operation of radio-electronic equipment (charge) on the high-lifting flight platform, which is a helicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicle.

Kvazimachta reconnaissance drone provides 24-hour video surveillance in optical and infrared bands, with real-time data transmission to ground terminals, and ensures a safe landing in the event of a power failure from ground sources.
