JAKARTA Member of Commission I DPR By Soleh responded to the question of adding six Military Regional Commands (Kodam) in various parts of Indonesia.

He assessed that the policy must be followed by an increase in TNI's responsiveness to security and social issues in each region.

The addition of these six Kodams is part of the government's efforts and the TNI to strengthen national defense, shorten the chain of command, and accelerate responses to the situation on the ground.

The addition of the Kodam must certainly bring real benefits to the community. I hope that the TNI will be more responsive to various problems in their respective regions, ranging from security, disasters, to social dynamics that require the presence of the state," said Soleh, Tuesday, August 12.

According to him, the formation of the new Kodam is not only a matter of expanding the organizational structure, but also ensuring its existence is truly effective.

Therefore, Soleh reminded the TNI to carefully calculate the budget needed so as not to burden the state budget, but still meet operational standards.

"We in the DPR support defense strengthening measures, but it must be accompanied by careful, efficient, and targeted budget planning. There should be no waste, especially in the midst of limited state fiscalities," he appealed.

By Soleh stated, Commission I of the DPR will continue to oversee the process of forming the new Kodam. Both in terms of policies, budgets, and implementation in the field to ensure that the expected goals are achieved.

"We hope that this new Kodam can strengthen the Universal People's Security System, and also support the acceleration of national development for the realization of community welfare," said Soleh.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated six new Kodams at the Military Operational and Honorary Forces Ceremony at the Kopassus Pusdiklatpassus, Batujajar, West Bandung, Sunday, August 10.

The six new Kodams are Kodam XIX/Mrku Tambusai - covering Riau and Riau Islands, Kodam XX/Mrku Imam Bonjol - covering West Sumatra and Jambi, and Kodam XXI/Radin Inten - covering Lampung and Bengkulu.

Then Kodam XXII/Tambun Bungai - covering areas of Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan, Kodam XXIII/Palaka Wira - covering areas of Central Sulawesi and West Sulawesi, and Kodam XXIV/Mandala Trikora - centered in Merauke, South Papua.
