Residents Of Rao Arrested By Pasaman Police During Illegal Gold Mining In Sibinail River

The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Pasaman Resort Police, West Sumatra, arrested an illegal gold mining actor on the banks of the Sibinail River, Jorong I Padang Metinggi, Nagari Padang Mantinggi Utara, Rao District, last Saturday.

The perpetrator with the initials HD (32), a local resident, is now being detained at the Pasaman Police for further investigation.

"We have secured the perpetrator with the initials HD at the Pasaman Police and are undergoing investigation," said Head of the Pasaman Police Satreskrim, AKP Fion Joni Hayes, in Lubuk Attitude, Antara, Sunday, August 10.

Fion explained that the arrests were made after his party received a public report regarding illegal gold mining activities using wooden rafts on the banks of the river.

The police then checked with Rao Police personnel. Arriving at the location, officers found the perpetrators operating an illegal gold mine.

"When he was about to be arrested, some of the perpetrators fled. However, one perpetrator was arrested along with a wooden raft and illegal gold mining equipment," he said.

Saat ini, pelaku dan barang bukti telah dibawa ke Polres Pasaman untuk proses hukum lebih lanjut. Polisi juga masih memeriksa saksi-saksi lain guna mengembangkan penyelidikan.

Currently, the perpetrators and evidence have been brought to the Pasaman Police for further legal proceedings. The police are also still examining other witnesses to develop the investigation.
