JAKARTA - KAI Commuter immediately evacuated and will conduct further investigations regarding the derailment of the Commuter Line (KRL) train on the Bogor-Jakarta Kota route on Tuesday, August 5th.

The KRL train derailed on track 9 at the Jakarta Kota Station yard on Tuesday morning at around 7:17 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). This incident disrupted KRL operations, particularly for the journey from Bogor to downtown Jakarta.

KAI Commuter Vice President Corporate Secretary, Joni Martinus, explained that the derailed train was Train Number 1189, traveling from Bogor to Jakarta Kota. Immediately after the incident, KAI officers on duty at the scene immediately evacuated all passengers on board.

"All passengers were safely evacuated by officers on the ground. There were no reports of injuries or injuries," Joni said in an official statement.

Officers also successfully evacuated the derailed KRL train. Currently, the KAI Commuter technical team is conducting a thorough inspection of the railway facilities and infrastructure in the surrounding area to ensure line safety and support the accelerated normalization of services.

In response to this operational disruption, KAI Commuter has implemented operational changes to minimize the impact on other service users. Commuter Line (KRL) trains from Bogor, which normally travel to Jakarta Kota Station, now only serve as far as Manggarai Station.

"To maintain service continuity for other Commuter Line trains, particularly the Bogor-Manggarai route, KAI Commuter has implemented operational changes. For example, train 1195F from Cilebut, which is supposed to travel to Jakarta Kota, only travels as far as Manggarai Station and returns as train 1192F to Depok," explained Joni.

This information was also communicated in real time via KAI Commuter's official Twitter account at 7:51 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. As of this writing, several KRL trains were still adjusting their schedules and operating routes due to the disruption.

KAI Commuter stated that it will immediately conduct an internal investigation to determine the exact cause of the derailment. The investigation will involve the railway's technical and safety teams to ensure there was no structural damage or procedural negligence.

"The safety and comfort of our passengers remains our top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and will continue to provide updates to passengers throughout the process," said Joni.

As a form of responsibility to its customers, KAI also reaffirms its commitment to completing the normalization process as soon as possible and ensuring that the line is safe before returning to regular operations.

For KRL Commuter Line users, KAI urges them to always update their travel information through the KAI Access app, official social media, or station staff. Adjustments to travel times and destinations are possible until the handling is fully completed.
