A Total Of 2,123 Joint Apparatus Guard Peaceful Actions To Defend Palestine At Monas

JAKARTA - Thousands of people who are members of the Indonesian People's Alliance of Defend Palestine held a peaceful protest with the theme of saving Gaza at the South Monas crossing, Central Jakarta, Sunday, August 3, 2025, morning.

They perform prayer, humanitarian speeches and moral messages from a number of religious and community leaders.

Although the activities are conducive, the Central Jakarta Metro Police are still carrying out strict security.

Thousands of people have been crowding the location since 06.00 WIB. Before the crowd arrived, security began with the implementation of the Tactical Wall Game (TWG) by the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

"We from the Central Jakarta Metro Police together with Polda Metro Jaya and Polsek throughout Central Jakarta have prepared maximum security with a total of 2,123 joint personnel," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, Sunday, August 3.

All officers on guard were not provided with firearms, as a form of a humanist approach to the mass of peaceful demonstrations.

According to Kombes Susatyo, security is not only a matter of maintaining security, but also services to the community.

"This is a form of our commitment to keep the atmosphere peaceful, cool, and conducive during the activity," he said.

Not only focusing on security, the police also strengthens the aspect of public services.

A number of parking points were prepared for the action participants' vehicles, as well as the medical team and ambulances placed in several strategic locations to anticipate emergencies.

"We are not only here to secure, but also provide the best service," he said.

In addition, the health team from the National Police was alerted to respond quickly if there were participants who needed medical assistance.

The police chief also appealed to the action participants to maintain order and respect public facilities.

"We invite all participants of the action to convey their aspirations in an orderly, peaceful manner, and not to destroy parks or other public facilities. Respect the rights of other citizens who are active around the place of action," he said.

Sebagai antisipasi arus lalu lintas, masyarakat pengguna jalan diminta untuk menghindari kawasan sekitar Monas selama aksi berlangsung dan memilih jalur alternatif.

"Kami harapkan pengertian masyarakat untuk sementara menghindari area Monas selama kegiatan berlangsung. Gunakan rute lain agar tidak terjadi kepadatan," imbaunya.

In anticipation of traffic flow, road users are asked to avoid the area around Monas during the action and choose alternative routes.

"We hope for the understanding of the community to temporarily avoid the Monas area during the activity. Use other routes so that congestion does not occur," he appealed.
