ASN Starts Domiciled In The IKN Area

Along with the development of infrastructure, the process of moving state civil servants (ASN) to IKN has taken place. As of July 2025, 1,170 employees of the IKN Authority officially inhabit several ASN residential towers. In addition, 109 employees of the Ministry of Health Hospital have also started working and living in the IKN area.

The presence of ASN was also strengthened by the transfer of personnel from various state institutions and ministries, such as Bank Indonesia, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the Ministry of PUPR, and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas, including technical units under it.

Basuki emphasized that the ASN relocation process to IKN will continue in accordance with national strategic plans.

"The PAN-RB ministry has designed the transfer of ASN from 15 ministries to IKN in the near future, as part of a gradual transfer strategy for central agencies to the archipelago," Basuki explained.

Nusantara VVIP Airport Approved To Become Public Airport

On the same occasion, Basuki also announced significant developments related to air transportation at IKN. The Indonesian House of Representatives has approved the change in the status of Nusantara VVIP Airport to Public Airport, to accommodate passenger mobility needs, especially from the western part of Kalimantan such as Kutai Kartanegara, West Kutai, and its surroundings.

This step is expected to further strengthen connectivity and support economic growth in the area around IKN as the center of Indonesia's new activities.
