Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani said his team is currently still investigating the alleged abuse case experienced by motorcycle taxi driver Aris Munandar (28) by an unknown person (OTK) after taking his passengers to Waghete II Market, Tigi District, Deiyai Regency, Central Papua.
The incident that occurred on Saturday, July 26, caused the victim to be seriously injured and is currently being treated at the Paniai Hospital in Madi.
"From the reports received, the victim was abused using sharp weapons by the OTK while escorting passengers in the Pasar Baru Waghete II area, Tigi District," said Rahmadani in Jayapura, Sunday, as reported by Antara.
It was said, from the testimony of eyewitnesses, victim Aris had time to take female passengers from the market to Pasar Baru Waghete II and had time to greet residents by honking their horns, but soon the victim was seen returning from the market with severe injuries and falling unconscious in front of a resident's stall.
Seeing this incident, residents immediately evacuated to the Waghete II Hospital and were then referred to the Paniai District Hospital for surgery.
