BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Special Crime Investigation Team (Pidsus) confiscated a number of assets belonging to three suspects in the alleged corruption case of the Regional Original Revenue Leakage (PAD) and money laundering (TPPU) related to the management of Mega Mall and Modern Traditional Market (PTM) Bengkulu City.
The three suspects came from the leadership of PT Trigadi Lestari, namely President Director Kurniadi Bengawan, Director Heriadi Bengawan, and Commissioner Satriadi Benggawan.
"The total of Mega Mall buildings in Palembang and other places have also been confiscated, including other assets. In total, the number is hundreds, but four hundred have not arrived," said Head of the Investigation Section of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office, Danang Prasetyo, in Bengkulu City, Antara, Friday, July 25.
The investigative team has confiscated 28 assets in the form of land and buildings spread across 17 locations in Palembang, including two main buildings, namely Mega Mall and PTM. In addition, there are 22 additional assets around the Mega Mall location.
The confiscation also extends to a number of other cities. The Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office has written to the offices of the National Land Agency (BPN) in Denpasar, Kalimantan, Medan, and Jakarta to block more than 50 assets, consisting of shophouses, houses and land.
"This step is part of the process of saving potential state losses due to corruption and money laundering offenses," said Danang.
Although the exact figure of state losses is still waiting for an audit from the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP), the investigative team estimates that the loss can reach Rp250 billion considering that this practice has been going on since 2004.
